Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss in Merveille (69) Review & Swatches

Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss is one of my all time favorite lip gloss formulas, period. It has a perfect non-sticky gel texture that is silky smooth with the perfect amount of cushion. This high shine formula has outstanding pigmentation straight across the board no matter which color you choose. I find the formula very long-wearing for a lip gloss and tend to get about 4 hours of wear. This is the perfect lip gloss formula!

CHANEL reveals a next generation lipgloss – with colour so rich and shine so intense, it could only be inspired by the iconic lipstick, ROUGE ALLURE. Bold colour combines with the smoothest, silkiest gel texture for luxurious wear and deeply dramatic effect. Lips feel comfortable – never sticky or tacky – and look luminous, full and sensuous for hours. The double-sided, flocked applicator is beveled to deliver ultra-precise definition.
Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss in Merveille from the Printemps Précieux de Chanel Spring 2013 Collection is described as a Lilac Rosewood shade, but I would call it more of an opaque rosewood plum hue with delicate pink shimmer. It is simply gorgeous! This is a very easy to wear everyday type of color that will flatter many skin tones.

According to Chanel, "Precious pinks and rich plums awaken the vibrancy of Spring for lip and nail, with a fresh makeup palette inspired by Gabrielle Chanel’s codes of simplicity and sophistication."
As I understand it, this is not a limited edition shade- but I would say that it is definitely worth having if you are drawn to shades of this sort.

Overall assessment: Pure magic! This is a gorgeous easy-to-wear shade of the highest quality! Must have for me! A++

0.28 oz. for $32.00 where Chanel is sold. Mine came from Bloomingdale's.

    1. You DEFINITELY need this one, Christa! It is unbelievably gorgeous! Why on earth would NM Canada restrict Chanel?! That's just ridiculous!!! :/

  2. Well I think the fact it WASN'T Canada restricted for so long was the mistake. Chanel was always Canada restricted everywhere else. It was so easy for me to order Chanel there online and WAY cheaper than getting in Canada plus I won't buy the Canadian/Euro baked versions of the quads and JCs so I relied heavily on NM. I am totally LOST now. :(

    1. It just makes no sense whatsoever. You are in freaking North America not on the Moon! It is completely unfair and absolutely ridiculous! It really is incredibly lame! :/

  4. I adore the EdG's and this shade seems like a great way to play with more sophisticated browned tones.

    1. Happy New Year, Kate! I agree completely! It's a very sophisticated, yet easy to wear, shade! Surprisingly it pulls more plum and less brown on me-- but it's gorgeous any way you look at it! The EdG formula is most definitely one of my all-time Holy Grail lip gloss formulas! I just love them so much! :)

  7. Just got mine today & am excited to see it in daylight. I do think this color is LE, though, unless my SA was wrong.

    1. I had heard that it wasn't LE. On the Chanel website only Attirance (70) and Triomphal (517) are listed as LE. Temptalia also had it listed as not being limited edition. I am going to check with my Chanel SA. It often seems unclear as to whether or not certain Chanel items are limited edition or not. If this is I definitely want a back up- because it is so amazing! I really hope that you love it as much as I do!! My fingers are crossed that your SA was misinformed because I will be really bummed if this goes away soon! :-)

  8. I can't believe I still haven't tried Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss yet, I like that it is non-sticky (my biggest pet peeve) and long lasting. I like this color for Spring!

    1. I'm so surprised, Rola!!!! It is one of the best gloss formulas on the market as far as I'm concerned. It's probably my all time favorite formula. You have to try it! This color is just magnificent! <3

  9. I found this by accident on one of my makeup swatching trips to the mall. I was originally examining the selection of Rouge Allure Lipsticks, but my eyes wandered over to the glosses and caught sight of this. Didn't test it directly on the lips, but I just loved the swatch. It looks feminine yet subdued, and the shimmer is just right. I think I'm saving up for this. <3
