Bobbi Brown High Shimmer Lip Gloss in Pink Tulle & Bellini

According to Bobbi Brown, "Bobbi's new lip gloss combines gorgeous, light-catching shimmer with lasting, non-sticky shine. Made with fine pearls and clear pigments, High Shimmer Lip Gloss stays color-true and gives lips beautiful, brilliant dimension. Plus it's enriched with emollients and Vitamins C and E to moisturize, condition and protect lips, so they feel as good as they look. Whether you wear it on its own or on top of your favorite Lip Color, the new tapered applicator lets you apply it like a pro."
I have to say that I agree with all of their claims! This is a sheer formula filled with gorgeous multidimensional pearl that makes your lips shiny and luminous. The formula, indeed, is non-sticky and moisturizing with a minty fresh taste/scent that dissipates soon after application. The new tapered doe foot applicator is a vast improvement over the ineffective brush applicators of yesteryear- making application a breeze.
The two colors that I chose are: Bellini (accurately described as a nude pink with pearl) and Pink Tulle (fittingly described as a hot pink with pearl). I really like the formula- it's comfortable and flattering in all of its glistening goodness. However, as is true with less sticky lip glosses you will experienced significantly reduced wear time. This doesn't bother me in the least as this is a very comfortable moisturizing gloss with high shine impact that is teetering on the edge of a treatment product. These are truly lovely lip glosses, I cannot imagine anyone being disappointed with this formula because of the many merits it boasts. However, those expecting opaque coverage in a gloss will find these too sheer for their liking. The opacity in the tube does not translate to the lips- they really are quite quite sheer. That said, these little sparking gems are equally happy on top of your favorite lipstick, or alone-- so even opaque gloss lovers can benefit from the enhancement these beauties will offer to their favorite lipsticks.
Aren't they beautiful as they glisten in the sun?!
Overall assessment: I'm very pleased with these High Shimmer Lip Glosses- the formula is comfortable with the perfect amount of cushion and moisture. I love the high impact shine, and the new applicator is fantastic. I have never been one to feel unhappy about lip glosses that are sheer, therefore this formula is one that I will get a great deal of use out of, and I will likely replace them when I use them up. However,  people that want an opaque gloss with high color pay off shouldn't expect those attributed from this formula otherwise they will be disappointed. I love these!!

$23.00 .24 oz. I bought mine at Macy's. Sold at Bobbi Brown counters and online from Bobbi Brown directly.

    1. Hi Connie, Me too! So far this is by far my favorite gloss formula from Bobbi Brown because it isn't sticky, I like the applicator, and it is nice and moisturizing. I also like how they twinkle in the sun!! Have a lovely weekend! xx

  2. That last pic reminds me of a cocktail, beach and summer - perfect, no? Those are some pretty colours, I am not a fan of glitter on my lips, I wonder if I could 'tolerate' them, haha. I really like Chanel glosses (but oh well, they do have some glitterbombs there). I am very glad they changed the applicator, I hated the one I got long time ago (tbh, when I took the applicator out it looked like a scared spider covered in gloss). Have a great weekend lola!

    1. I can see just what you mean, Claire!! THey are very pretty-- I'm pretty smitten with them, but they definitely have a lot of pearl-- I wouldn't call it flat out glitter, but there area fair amount of particles for sure. I would swatch in person, if I were you-- just in case they are too glittery for your liking. I love the Chanel Glossimers, but there are some with a good deal of glitter for sure.

I'm soooo happy that they changed the applicator fir these glosses-- those old brushes (don't they actually still use them in some of their other glosses??) -- LOL-- perfect description of the old brush applicators when they became splayed and mangled!! You have a lovely weekend too, Claire!! xxoo

    1. These were definitely a lovely addition to the lip glosses! I really really like them-- it's a really nice formula. I would definitely suggest checking them out in person, if at all possible. These two are quite sheer- so if one were to buy a couple of them I would think one of these two, but perhaps another color that is appreciably different from Bellini and Pink Tulle. Though I do really like having both. I suppose it also really depends on how pigmented your lips are. I really do find these to be quite lovely! Let me know if you get any, and let me know what you think. Have a lovely weekend! xx

  4. Some of my original favorite glosses were Bobbi's but they had that awful brush. I don't have any in my collection right now though. I probably should pay more attention to hers if I ever "need" more.

    1. Mine too, but I didn't like that old brush at all. Mine always seemed to end up splayed and kind of scratchy, and made a mess putting the lip gloss on! Actually her glosses had fallen off of my radar because of the brush, but she's definitely back on my radar now!!!!! xxoo

  5. OMG that applicator is a huge improvement over the brushes! That's actually why I've avoided BB glosses (along with some other brands) before. Great to see the change!

These look pretty shimmery...do they look that shimmery once applied? Having said that I suppose that's why they are called High Shine :-)

    1. OMG BIGGGGGGG TIME!!!!!!!!!! Me too-- I avoided her glosses for years because of that brush-- which is a shame because she makes some insanely good lippies!! I hope that all of her glosses are now being made with this doe foot applicator!

Yup, they are pretty darn shimmery on as well-- it's not a glitter-bomb explosion like some glosses, but it will definitely be more than some people will like. I would definitely suggest swatching in person to see if there's too much for your taste, but I am very very very happy with them. They really twinkle in the sun, and the formula is really lovely, and it feels really nice on the lips! Have a great weekend! <3

  6. Oh, I didn't realize they changed the applicator. Thank GOD!! These 2 glosses are super pretty, but they're so similarly shimmery without a lot of color that I'd probably only get one of them

    1. I don't know if they changed the applicator on all of the lip glosses, but this range comes with the doe foot applicator! I couldn't agree with you more, Becca-- I really really disliked the old brush applicators-- in fact, I stopped buying her glosses a while ago because those brush applicators bugged me so much! These two glosses are super pretty, but you are exactly right-- they are both quite similarly shimmery and they are both quite sheer-- so there really isn't a "necessity" to buy both. I really like the formula though-- it's super comfortable on my lips (non-sticky, great amount of cushion, non-drying). ;-)

  7. Both of these are so pretty - I'd love layering them!

    1. They are quite pretty. Actually I layered them after I swatched them-- I didn't want to waste the product on my arm so I mixed them and put them on my lips. You are quite right, Vita-- they were lovely together! I think that I'm going to pop both in my purse so that I think to do that more often!! Enjoy your weekend! :D

    2. Ah, you're so practical, using the product after swatching, lol - I love layering glosses for different looks!

    3. I wish I were always so practical-- most often I just wipe my swathes off, but these were so sparkly and pretty that I just had to put them on! I love layering glosses too-- I also do it with lipsticks, and lipsticks and glosses together. I'm a HUGE proponent of customizing color through layering-- it's such an easy way to experiment with color! xx

  8. Oh, how I used to despise their brush wands! They'd splay so quickly. The pinks are very pretty - not my type of colours but - the sparkles! The shimmer! Looks fabulous on you I'm sure. :)

    1. Those brushes were awful! They would splay the first time that you would put it back in the tube, and it was all downhill from there!!!!!!!! The pinks are quite pretty, but they are very sheer- so they impart very very little color (at least with these two), but the shine, shimmer and sparkle is LOVELY!
