Youngblood Lipstick in Blushing Nude (Fall 2012 Pre-Release)- Swatches & Review

Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics posits, "Get gorgeous lips with our colorful range of luxurious lipsticks. The lanolin-free formula contains a special blend of natural oils and vitamins. Stays fresh-looking for hours." Youngblood points out that while their lipstick formulas are long-wearing that they are not color-stay lipsticks because "Currently, color-stay ingredients can be drying and have not met Youngblood's formulary requirements. However, select shades of our Lipstick are highly pigmented to provide a staining effect." (source)
About Youngblood and their noble beliefs: "Health for the sake of beauty" is undoubtedly their motto, and caring about the health of their customers without sacrificing the luxury of high-end cosmetics is a goal that they have amply achieved.  Youngblood suggests that, "All mineral cosmetics are not created equal. Since Youngblood was originally developed with leading doctors and for use in a medical setting, you can trust our formulations are the very finest available."

Blushing Nude Lipstick is part of the new Fall 2012 Collection that is about to launch, and let me just say that the nude lip lovers among you will want to get your hands on this beautiful lipstick. It is a gorgeous pink caramel beige nude that can be sheered out to a barely there tint of color, but it is a buildable formula that easily offers more opaque coverage. It has a very creamy consistency and the perfect amount of cushion to make your lips feel comfortable and moist. I like wearing this all by itself, however the color is sufficiently complex that a cool pink lip liner pulls out the cooler hues, whereas a warmer honey-toned lip liner warms causes it to pull warm. While I'm not a proponent one size shade fits all, generally, I do think that this particular color morphs itself sufficiently to appeal to both warmer and cooler skin tones. The level of pigmentation naturally occurring in your lips will certainly determine the extent to which this lovely shade imparts the highly sought after natural nude effect, but I do think that this color will appeal to a wide variety of people. One thing that I am particularly pleased about is that this is a fragrance free lipstick with no detectable taste or smell. Fragrance in lipsticks often make cough- so this is a welcome relief! I also have found that I get about 3-4 hours of wear time with normal use (talking, drinking, eating non-oily/greasy foods). According to Youngblood, "rich, creamy color conditions lips with a blend of natural oils and minerals" which sums it up perfectly.
Paraben Free, Lanolin Free & Cruelty Free!
Overall assessment: This is a fantastic formula, a gorgeous color, and a healthy line that is Paraben Free, Lanolin Free, and Cruelty Free. What's not to love!! If you are looking for a healthier alternative to some of the other lipsticks in your stash, then I urge you to take the time to investigate this line. 3. You need to stop tempting with all these lipsticks. I have enough nude lippies & glosses to last me through my next 10 lives.
What I need to know is.......does your happy puppy have a name yet?
Please put me out of my misery:)

    1. LOL-- sorry for the additional temptation!! I know what you mean, I have a pile of nude lippies-- and only one mouth-- so I am right there with you about having enough to last 10 lifetimes!

Ok, so my husband and sister are calling her Lucy. I am still calling her Little Monkey, and sometimes Lula. And my 6 year old niece is calling her Cupcake, Lollipop, and get this one Coco Chanel (with a French accent, and she DOES NOT SPEAK FRENCH)-- every time she does it I laugh so hard that I almost cry!!! So does she have an official name yet, not really-- but then I guess it just depends who you ask in my family!! I need to be put out of my misery as well- the poor puppy needs a name!!

    2. That's how Oliver...alias Twister, Dodger, Oli Wolly or Olidog got his many names. Everyone had their own plan. He doesn't really seem to mind though. I think it's how we call him rather than the actual name & if we drop something in his bowl he's there like a shot anyway.
I do like Lucy though ( a LOT ) and Lulu-belle or Lolli. Coco is probably a bit OTT for this little ball of fluff - but what the heck:))

    3. That's about the size of it here as well!! Just as long as she can tell! Our cat Oliver took forever to name, and as a result it took him quite a long time to get that was his name. I agree that Coco Chanel might be a bit OTT for the dog, but it is soooo funny hearing my niece call her that! I think that we are just going to call her Lucy-- which will definitely turn into Lulu and Lulu-belle. I'm sure she will be called all sorts of other things as well-- including Little Monkey!! :-)

  4. I love the color. Not only is it wonderful on its own but it plays well with lots of glosses.
Which blush did you get? I'm crazy about Youngblood Cream blushes - I wear them all the time.

    1. Me too, Marcia!! it's so gorgeous, and so versatile. Funny that you should mention glosses-- I was just experimenting with different colored glosses on top! Ohhh, I would love to try their cream blushes and their eye shadows too! They send me one of their loose mineral blushes in Sherbet-- it reminds me of a prettier version of NARS Orgasm-- my guess is that you probably already have it in your stash. It's such a lovely multitasker!

  5. This really does look like an amazing "my lips but better" shade (Arrrghh--why do I use that term so often if I HATE it?!?). Pretty!

    1. HAHA-- don't you hate it when you end up using terms that you don't like-- it's like Liz talking about hating the word haul-- which I'm also not fond of-- yet I just used it in my two recent "pickups" posts!! I think that we get used to them-- because they become part of the vernacular in the beauty blogging circles-- so we use the terms without thinking about them, or whether we like those words to describe an action etc. Yes, it's a really pretty shade, and I really like the formula a lot!

  6. Hmmm...I'm still on the hunt for the perfect pinky-nude lip. I have several glosses I like but lipstick has still evaded me!! This will go on the *must* try list!!

    1. I'm always on the hunt for the perfect pinky nude lippies. This one might not be quite pink enough to fit your criteria-- I would definitely suggesting swatching it though-- you might really love it. Which perfect pinky-nude glosses to you have-- I might just "need" them! xxoo!

    1. I think that you would really like the line. I only have this lipstick and a loose mineral blush-- both are quite lovely. Marcia is a huge fan of their cream blushes and has used them for a very long time. I think that Youngblood is a socially responsible company that is very ethical, but they also happen to make fabulous makeup!!
