Chantecaille Brilliant Gloss- Love Swatches & Review

I came to the Chantecaille party a little late- I had resisted the charms of this magnificent line because I needed to add another luxury brand obsession into my line up like I needed a third arm, but eventually I gave in- and now I can formally declare my love for Chantecaille!
I have a nearly irrational love of lip glosses generally, and pink lip glosses specifically- it therefore became quite obvious that my first foray into the world of Chantecaille lip glosses would have to involve some lovely shade of pink.  I chose the Chantecaille Brilliant Gloss in Love which can be described as a pale cool pink with highly refined multidimensional shimmer. While it is a more sheer leaning gloss, it has a marvelous and complex iridescence that makes it extraordinarily gorgeous on the lips.
This formula is not in the least bit sticky or tacky, but instead it has just enough cushion to be extremely comfortable on the lips. While it has the distinct sheen of a lip gloss, it likewise has the feeling of a lip balm in its ability to soothe and moisturize the lips.

Here are the benefits, according to Chantecaille:
-A hydrating wand lip gloss for soft, supple, shiny lips
-Botanical microspheres plump lips, immediately increasing the volume of the lips.
-Innovative jellified system creates long-lasting wear
-Exceptionally soft brush will never clump

Brilliant Gloss is made from a hydrating and enriching formula that imparts long-lasting color and brilliant shine. Safely plump lips for a perfect pout. This slick gloss also includes Green Tea extract to protect delicate skin.

While I would see this as more of a gloss than a plumper- my lips do seem a bit more full when I wear this gloss, but it doesn't sting or tingle. This gloss is simply superb!

  1. I think this is the one Angelina Jolie was pictured applying at last year's Oscars, and then you couldn't buy one for love nor money! It does look beautiful - I like Chantecaille lipsticks, and even though I'm not a gloss fan typically I am tempted.

    1. Yes, I believe that it is the same one that she made go viral! When I was writing up the review I noticed that the Chantecaille website boasted that Love and Charm are her favorites! I picked it becasue I love pink lip glosses. Though I must confess that Charm looks quite lovely as well, and is on my wish list!

The texture really is extraordinary. I love your reviews of her lipsticks, and would love a couple of those as well! Have a lovely weekend, Grace! xx

  2. This is lovely, lovely, lovely, but I definitely feel like it is dupeable at a lesser price point. However, I haven't ever tried anything from the Chantecaille line, so I'm sure one of the bigger selling points is it's luxurious formula (one would hope??) so maybe one day...

    1. You are quite right, Becca-- the color is most definitely easily duped. But the texture, ahhhhh the texture-it's just so heavenly!!!!!! The luxurious texture makes it worth the price.

    1. It is so lovely, Cindy. I agree, the palettes are quite expensive! It's nice the one can buy the regular shadows in the refill pan, though. I think that is how I'm going to approach buying more Chantecaille shadows! Have a great weekend! xx

  6. I have only had one of their tube glosses and did really like the look, though slighty too tacky for me, I have to say this is very pretty though and I could be tempted, I am quite interested in their new tube gloss formula they have bought out as well, I think I'm due a big Chantecaille haul really, just need to get some money! ;) x

    1. I don't find this one at all tacky-- it feels quite moisturizing and comfortable to me! Perhaps you can swatch it first to see if it feels at all like the one that you have-- because if it does- then it might be a pass for you. I suspect that you won't find this one tacky though. The color is lovely, but not a unique color-- easily duped in that regard-- but the formula is exquisite! I would like to do a big Chantecaille haul as well!! I do believe that we need benefactors!! xx

  7. Hey, think of how useful a third arm can be... hoisting that coffee cup while the other two arms are reaching for the sugar and cream. ;)

I haven't tried Chantecaille yet but someday!

    1. What a very good point! LOL!!

Ah yes, Chantecaille-- I had managed to (intentionally) avoid it for quite a while, but Zuzu's high praise finally got me to cave! It's all over now. All I can say is hold out as long as you possibly can, Liz! I don't think this is a habit that can be kicked once it has formed! xoxo
