Number One NARS Regret...

...that I waited too long to order 413 BLKR Shimmer Eyeshadow, and now it's "currently unavailable." I don't often have beauty lack of purchase regrets, but this is definitely one of my biggest to date! Do you hear sobbing across the blogosphere? That would be me lamenting my bad choice to wait to place my order!

Have you ever regretted not purchasing a particular beauty product that you could no longer track down? What was it? Did you go to impossible lengths to find one, or did you let it go?

Update: I decided to call the NARS flagship store at 413 Bleecker Street in the West Village of NYC to see if they still had any 413 BLKR Shimmer Eyeshadows left, and they do!! I was told that they are not limited edition at that location- so while it is sold out on the NARS website you can still order it directly from the store for which it was made! (646) 459-2323

Mine is being shipped today!!!!!!!! Be expecting swatches and a review in the very near future!

  1. Oh I hate that when it happens, was it only on the NARS site they were stocking that shade?
I had a similar problem with Burberry Midnight brown shadow, I missed out of getting it when it came out last year and couldn't find it anywhere and had been checking online on the few sites that stock the range every single week and you know it popped up on one this weekend, I don't think I have ever ordered something so quickly, so there may still be hope for your NARS x

    1. I know, it's not fun at all!! I'm so glad that you were able to find Burberry Midnight Brown!! That's a gorgeous eye shadow! I can't wait to see your review! NARS is sold out online, but as I understand it- it was also available at their 413 Bleecker Street store-- so I'm going to call them to see if they have any left. I should know better-- especially as a beauty blogger-- to act so slowly on a LE item that I know that I want!! I definitely draw the line at paying above retail on eBay, but maybe I can still track one down at their flagship store! xo

    4. Me too! Thank you for encouraging me to find it! Did you see Zuzu posted a comparison between Lhasa & 413 BLKR today? So timely! Has your Midnight Brown arrived yet? I'm dying to see your review & swatches!

    5. I did see Zuzu's post, really helpful :) I've got midnight brown now but can't try it yet as I have been trying to take a good picture of it for the blog, its almost cruel having it here and not being able to use it x

    6. I'm glad that you saw her post. I'm so excited to see your swatches and review of Midnight Brown. I have looked at that shade online for a long time and have almost ordered it several times, but I will definitely wait until I see your swatches and review before I do a thing! :-) Your pictures are always extraordinary-- I'm sure you will get some that you are happy with soon! Have a lovely weekend, xo

    7. Waiting to use product until after pics is torture! I just spent the entire day photographing various and sundry, and one item I had waited to use turned out to be a flop. And it's a WHOLE Chanel eye quad. Figures. :P

    8. It really is! I know just what you mean! Non-beauty bloggers are so lucky that they can use their products the second that they buy them!!!

  2. I have it and wore it once. I'm so bad.
My regret is that I bought the similar shade (llaso??) and immediately LOST it!! It's hiding in my house and won't come out. I need help obviously.

    1. Such is the life of a beauty blogger!! I actually have a few RBR shadows that I still haven't worn yet!! I have Lhasa too, and love it-- but I haven't worn it nearly enough!! I hope that you find it soon-- it's such a lovely shade. Zuzu says that the two work beautifully together!! I can't wait to try them out together!

  3. They do work beautifully together, and you will soon see that Lhasa is much more brown. I don't wear it as often as 413 BLKR for that reason, but Lhasa is still a beautiful cool-leaning taupe. I would be very sad if I lost it, but I lose a fair amount of makeup (mostly lipsticks, which roll), thanks to the cats.

I am SO glad you were able to get 413, Lola, because I think you are really going to love it. It's an absolutely stunning cool-silvery-lavender shade.

Now, don't be mad at me. I have my NARS Lhasa/413 BLKR comparison post scheduled for tomorrow. :P

    1. I'm SO excited that you are doing your NARS Lhasa/413 BLKR comparison post-- I have been eagerly awaiting that post since you told me that you were thinking about doing it. Now I would have been SUPER sad reading it if I hadn't been able to track 413 BLKR yesterday!! I'm so so so excited about it!! Ah yes, makeup and the prying paws of kitties-- I have to keep my makeup well hidden from them!! Lipstick tubes are just so fun the way they roll and make you want to chase them-- or so my feline friends tell me! I can imagine just how much more brown Lhasa appears in comparison to 413 BLKR!! I can't wait to play with them together. I have been meaning to ask you if you have ever bothered with Burberry eye shadows? I didn't find any on your blog, and have been wondering about them. They do seem to lean toward more warm neutrals-- which would definitely keep you away, but it does seem as though they may have some cooler leaning hues too.

    2. Believe it or not, I have never tried a single item from Burberry counters. They do seem warm and pretty shimmery. I figure why even try to start a new obsession. ;) I am perfectly happy with RBR, Chanel, Chantecaille, Px, Laura Mercier, and the other usual suspects.

    3. Nor have I- not a single item. I have heard lovely things about the eye shadows, but haven't taken the plunge. I also can't really find any information about their policy on animal testing- which makes me assume that they probably still do. There are a few colors that have caught my eye, and am trying to figure out if I should drop it altogether before starting to take a deeper look.

I know what you means about not wanting to start a new obsession!!

  4. BTW, based on the title of this post, I was prepared to be shocked (as in you had regretted buying it.)
