What's in My Makeup Bag? Volume II

I am always so curious about what beauty bloggers are carrying around in their makeup bags at any given time. There is something so delightful and satisfying about seeing which items that get reviewed make the cut into the personal makeup bag. However, my curiosity is far from limited to beauty bloggers- I am curious about what all of you out there have stashed in your makeup bags! A little peek allows you to be a beauty voyeur, and perhaps a bit of a lemming as well! So just in case you were wondering what I am carrying around this week here's a look!

Most of the time I only tend to carry lip products and hand lotion- the only time you will find any eye makeup in my makeup bag is when I am getting a facial. Even then I only carry an eye crayon. Once I put on my eye makeup in the morning I seldom retouch unless there is a good reason to do so.
The makeup bag itself is a GWP from Chanel, but eventually I will have to buy myself a proper makeup bag from Clare Vivier

So here's what's inside starting left to right, top to bottom:

Top row: 80 Acres of McEvoy Ranch Verde Hand & Body Lotion (reviewed here); Sunday Riley Juno Transformative Lipid Serum (reviewed here); NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30 (reviewed here).

Second row: Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Sugar Frosting (#005) (reviewed and swatched herehere); Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Royallieu (#58) (reviewed here); Shiseido Pureness Oil-Control Blotting Paper (not reviewed, but these are fabulous); and an Erno Laszlo Makeup Compact (circa 1990?) filled with Erno Laszlo Controlling Face Powder (reviewed here).

Last convoluted row (from bottom left up, then down): Coastal Classic Creations Ida's Rose Lipstick (reviewed here); Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in Narcissus (reviewed here); MAC Tendertone Lip Balm in Hot 'N' Saucy (reviewed here); MAC Viva Glam Ricky's Lip Conditioner (reviewed here); Bonne Bell Lip Smacker in Strawberry (reviewed here); and Lipstick Queen Jean Queen Lipstick & Lipstick Queen Jean Queen Lip Gloss ( both reviewed here).

What's in your makeup bag right now? Do tell!

  1. Thanks for the peek. I see some rosy favorites in there, same ones in my bag! LOL, looking more closely, I also have Shiseido blotting papers, a Chanel lipstick, and Revlon Berry Smoothie. *sekrit twin*

    1. Totally twins! What's funny is that I just swapped out Berry Smoothie for Sugar Frosting in my makeup bag. Berry Smoothie is DEFINITELY one of my favorites!

    1. Me too! I couldn't agree more. It's just so fun to see what other people are carrying around. Of course it does tend to lead me to want things that I don't have in my stash! :-)

  3. I did a post on this and now my bag is 100% different. I guess I could do a post like this seasonally just for fun. My only similarities to you are a Revlon Lip (Strawberry Shortcake) and blotting papers.

    1. Oh you should do it seasonally, Marcia-- I would love to take a peek!! I love Strawberry Shortcake-- it is such a gorgeous shade. I carried it in my purse for a while before switching out to Berry Smoothie, and now to Sugar Frosting. The next one to go in my makeup bag will either be Cherry Tart or Red Velvet! Those blotting papers are so fantastic!

  4. I always carry too much of everything in my makeup bag, very embarrassing. I need to learn to lighten up. Thanks for showing yours!

    1. It's is so easy to do! I have been really trying to edit what I carry because I often end up carrying way too much- and then I can't find anything!

    1. Hi Nicolle- I just got your email. We DEFINITELY have similar taste-- we even carry the same Chanel GWP makeup bag. We do both carry a lot of lip products. I have a La Prairie Lip Gloss as well-- in a golden color. I like it and haven't used it in a long time-- I will have to put it back into rotation-- you have inspired me to do that. I have been wanting to try that By Terry Baume de Rose, and I flock at it every time that I pass the counter at Barneys. Do you like it a lot?. I love your hair pin-- it's super cute! Thank you SO much for sending me pictures of what's in your makeup bag-- I LOVE what you are carrying!!!

I love the little Juno serum as well!! It's so nice to carry around!

I haven't yet gotten anything from any of the new MAC launches. I was thinking about a couple of the blushes from Tres Cheek- the two that caught my eye were Full of Joy- but I wonder if it is close enough to Azalea Blossom from Daphne Guinness to pass, and I was also thinking about Peony Petal, but wonder if it is so close to NARS Gaiety that I should pass as well. The Skin Finishes look interesting as well-- the one that caught my eye is Whisper of Guilt, but I'm trying to decide if I need another highlighter. A few of the eye shadows look pretty as well-- Modern Pewter looks gorgeous as does Grand Galaxy. I have been so busy with work that I haven't had the time to go to the MAC Pro Store or Nordstrom-- so all of my looking has been online instead. I want to check out the Chanel Summer Collection as well. The online pics for the Dior Summer Collection looks nice as well. Let me know if you end up getting anything from any of these collections!!

    2. sorry for the delay! Yea, I giggled when I saw your make up bag :)

I really like the By Terry Baume...it is not sticky. I use it night mostly and in the morning my lips are very soft and moisturized. It has lasted me awhile now.

I passed on the Tres Cheek collection and the Extra Dimension one too. I saw the Dior collection last night but didn't get anything. I did see the Chanel collection and only picked up two items..RC Shine in Empreinte & the Sable Rose bronzer but it's not the typical bronzer! It has some pink in it and it's not dark/orange...I'm glad I got it! :)

    3. Hi Nicolle! I responded to your email and it kicked it back twice. I will have to check out the By Terry Balm more closely next time I'm at Barneys or SpaceNK!

I planned on passing on Tres Cheek and Extra Dimension, but picked up three of the blushes (Pink Peony, Pink Tea & Lovecloud) I already had Pink Cult from Jeanius so didn't pick it up from Reel Sexy, andSuperb Extra Dimension Skinfinish. So far I really like them. I just bought a bunch of Rouge Bunny Rouge that I just finished swatching today.

I didn't even check the Dior collection. Ooooooh Empriente!! I'll have to take a look at that and the Sable Rose bronzer-- I'm actually shocked that you even looked at a bronzer!!!!!! Since I know that you have kept away from bronzers with the same vigor that I have-- it makes me think that I will REALLY have to have a close look at that one!

    4. I was so close on getting Pink Tea...I looked at it 3-4 times. I will probably regret it later. haha...

Yea, the Dior collection kind of bored me. The 2 lip products I thought I would like didn't really show up on my lips. The rest of the collection the colors weren't calling me. I guess I am not a fan of anything too bright.

Yes, I was shocked too! I didn't expect to get it. BUT I am thinking of returning Sable Rose. I don't know if the SA just put too much on but as the day went on...the color changed and kept getting darker. I didn't like that. It went from a pink color at Nordstrom to a light brown almost orange color. It was really obvious I had something on - another thing I don't like. It's too pricey for me not to LOVE it. Should I give it another try or just return it? I haven't used it yet.

I am going to email you from an account I KNOW that works :)

    5. I actually really like Pink Tea-- I will be posting pictures in the next few days. It is still available if you change your mind. MAC online has all of them still, and Nordstrom still did the other day when I was there.

If Dior bored- no point in lingering or wasting money! The bright lip trend has made it harder to find wearable lip pies in all of the new collections!

Sable Rose looks gorgeous in the pictures that I have seen, but if it oxidized on you throughout the day- then I would bring it back. Too much to spend if it is going to ultimately turn orange on you. YOU simply have to love it at that price-- otherwise it's going to end up in your mom's stash and you will have lost $60.00+!!

You could always go to a Chanel counter and try it on once more to see if it oxidizes again-- if it doesn't then keep it, but if it does return the unused one. At least that's what I would do.
