Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter- REVIEW

I must preface this post by stating that the last time Revlon was on my radar was when I bought a tube of Cherries in the Snow Lipstick (#440) while I was still in high school. It's not that I am a snobby couture makeup only hoarder, but for one reason or another I just forgot about Revlon. That is until now. Makeup & Beauty Bloggers, Makeup Artists, makeup collectors, and beauty junkies alike have collectively lost their minds over this F A B U L O U S new lip product. Revlon's new Colorburst Lip Butter is a buttery smooth tinted lip balm that offers a luscious pigmented shine while simultaneously moisturizing the lips.

Revlon claims:
Buttery balm with beautiful shiny color to give you baby soft, healthy glowing lips
94% of women felt lips were softer, smoother, and instantly hydrated
Hydrating mango, shea and coconut butter formula boosts lip moisture by 156%
Pampering gel formula provides super charged hydration and glides on lips buttery smooth
Sheer to medium color with buttery shine

I agree with most of their claims, but doubt that the moisture level of my lips were boosted by 156% (and that strikes me as a rather random percentage). I am also not swayed by an unsubstantiated statistic stating that "94% of women felt their lips were softer, smoother, and instantly hydrated." 94% of how many women? 10? 100? 1,000,000? All of the women in the entire world?

Snarky nitpicking aside, I actually really love everything about these Lip Butters. The texture is smooth and creamy, the consistency is very nice, the smell is pleasant, and they look fantastic. The 20 color choices are very nice ranging from warm to cool colors. What is pretty remarkable is how similar the texture and appearance is to the Chanel Rouge Coco Shines (one of my all-time favorite lip products from Chanel). For a fraction of the price $7.49 each versus $32.00, you get serious bang for your buck- particularly when you consider that Walgreens, CVS and Rite-Aid have been running specials on them since the product launched.

Overall assessment: I love this product, and find myself picking up a new color each time there is a special at Walgreens, CVS or Rite-Aid! (Affiliate link)

    1. I LOVE these too! This is by far my very very favorite product that Revlon makes. I think that they are so wonderful that I bought every shade!!

I agree with you ELE- they are kind of like a lip gloss-- they are so juicy and moisturizing. I agree that these hybrid lip product are perfect for people like you who don't wear lip glosses. I wear them all of the time! :)
