Sunday Riley Stimulant I Perfecting Stem Cell Serum- REVIEW

In this day and age everyone seems to be making products that claim to reverse the signs of aging. Of course common sense tells you that this is nothing but a hollow promise preying on a culture plagued by the fear of aging. Ever on the quest for the Fountain of Youth we succumb to their claims in the hope that this cream or that serum will permanently remove our laugh lines and result in the guarantee that even as senior citizens we will be carded.

That said, I am a firm believer in high quality skincare products that are packed with antioxidants, Omegas  3, 6 & 9, ceramides, Vitamins, resveratrol, retinol, peptides etc. I will gladly pay a premium for smart products that make attainable and realistic claims, and are capable of making good on their promises. Accordingly, I have been very happy with the entire Sunday Riley range of skincare products, and am smitten with the serums.

Stimulant I Perfecting Stem Cell Serum is one of my favorite products because it puts the kibosh on expression lines and fine lines, and is a non-surgical alternative to fillers and Botox. I have never really been compelled to go to a doctor to get these sorts of treatments, and perhaps I would feel differently if I had more than just a few fine expression lines- so for me something like this product is just perfect. I tend to have a very expressive face, and as a result I developed what my husband called an "11" between my eyebrows- he didn't mean it as an insult indicating that I was weather-beaten, more as a comment on me squinting at him in disbelief when reacting to some far-fetched man (il)logic. So if the growth of my "11" was directly proportional to some of his musings then I figured something like Stimulant I might just do the trick. While I can tell you that I do still squint at him in disbelief (frequently)- he no longer tells me not to "11" him! This serum really is that effective-- my expression lines have run for the hills, and I didn't mind bidding them adieu. This product is miraculous, but if you discontinue use the benefits will dissipate-- so don't expect this to be a life time cure-all if you stop using it.

Sunday Riley suggests that this product is intended as an intense corrective for: Plumping expression lines, and fine lines around eyes and mouth. Within minutes lines appear minimized. This is a  profound tool for anyone seeking an immediate expression line eraser as well as the wrinkle smoothing effects of gently relaxed facial muscles. Skin looks noticeably less lined, younger,  and fuller. This product is enriched with Edelweiss Plant Stem Cells, and is paraben free.

Key Ingredients: 1) FiFlow -20% (Maximum possible amount!) Oxygenating, di-electric effect acts in multiple levels (fast penetration, instant skin volume, muscular relaxation, cellular detoxification) to impart instaneous extreme plumping;  2) Edelweiss (Leontopodium) Plant Stem Cells - Anti-aging properties that include firming, antioxidant activity, inhibition of collagenase and hyaluronidase and the reduction of wrinkle depth by 15% of the eye contour area after 20 days; 3) Snap-8 - Peptide, reduces depth of expression wrinkles up to 63%, topical alternative to Botox;  4) Inyline - Peptide, minimizes expression wrinkles by 14.9% after 28 days, smooths skin surface; 5) Gatuline - Flowering herb with analgesic properties and instant Botox-like properties, 75% of test subjects experienced wrinkle smoothing within 24 hours of the first application; 6) Syn-ake – Based on a synthetic tripeptide that mimics the effect of Waglerin 1, a peptide that is found in the venom of the Temple Viper, shown to decrease wrinkles by 52% within 28 days; 7) Colloidal gold - Restores elasticity, smoothes skin by stimulating cellular regeneration, antioxidant; 8) Silk - Helps plump up the skin and increase its ability to retain moisture resulting in smoother, less wrinkled skin.

  1. I am considering getting Sunday Riley Stimulant III Perfecting Stem Cell Serum for those difficult age spots, myself. Thanks for the elaborate review. I'm convinced that I should now get Bionic and Skin Adrenaline. I started with Juno and can't believe how unbelievably soft my skin is after use.

    1. Hi Jen! I am so glad that you have found my review helpful! I have been using Stimulant III for quite a while and have yet to review it. However, since you are considering getting it I will put it at the top of my list of things to review so that you can read my review before you purchase it-- particularly since you want to get it for difficult age spots (I have some definite opinions about it with respect to pesky age spots and areas of deeper sun damage). Check back later today or tomorrow- and I will post a review for you. I reviewed Bionic, but haven't reviewed Skin Adrenaline yet (which I will do after my Stimulant III review). I love both Skin Adrenaline and Bionic. You can always start out buying one and getting samples of the other. I bought Bionic first, and then after sampling Skin Adrenaline ended up adding it into my rotation. I have tweaked my routine over the past few years, and now use Skin Adrenaline during the day and Bionic at night.

Juno is one of my all time favorite products- I totally agree with you about how unbelievably soft it makes my skin feel. I also am crazy about Good Genes-- which has radically improved the texture of my skin!! I'm so glad to see someone who loves this skincare line as much as I do!!

  3. Great blog! Are you still using this serum? Do you find the effect to be accumulative?

    1. Thanks!! No, I no longer use this serum. When I ran out I didn't replace it. The effects are temporary, rather than cumulative. As soon as you stop using it the effects go away. While this is a topical, and it has nothing in common with something like Botox, the one thing that one could compare is the fact that if you stop using it all of the benefits are lost.

    1. Hi Victoria,

Thank you for your very kind words, Victoria! I have not heard anything about SR discontinuing Stimulant I. Quite some time ago I had been told that Stimulants II & III were discontinued, but I haven't heard of anything since then. If you can't get a response from the company directly-- then you might contact one of the SR counters at Barneys to see if you can get confirmation about what you had heard.I wish that I had an answer for you, but I have no idea. Thanks for stopping by! :-)
