Sunday Riley's Ceramic Slip Cleanser is the Most Luscious Gently Foaming Cleanser I Have Tried!

It is no secret that I am a great fan of Sunday Riley products, and for those who know me you know just how obsessed I am with the entire range of skincare products. Ceramic Slip Cleanser is no exception, and in fact was the first cleanser that I tried from the line (I have since used all of them and will review the others later).

This is no ordinary cleanser- while it generates a gently foaming creamy lather it does not strip the skin in the least bit. I have found that most of the foaming cleansers that I have tried end up stripping my combination skin only to force a greater production of oil and sebum, but that is not the case here. Not only is this a gentle acting non-stripping formula, but it actually leaves the skin extraordinarily soft and supple.

While this extraordinary cleanser needs no help in boosting it's efficacy I have found it a decadent treat to use it in conjunction with my Clarisonic-- the two together yield astounding results. My skin is left so deeply cleansed that one would think that I had just gotten a facial.

Skin Type: Normal to Combination

Purpose: Ceramic Slip Cleanser, according to Sunday Riley, "Creates flawless skin + miniscule pores.
A must-have in the pursuit of ceramic-smooth skin! Gently foaming, it purifies the skin, tightens pores, stimulates collagen and increases circulation. With natural essential oils to tone and balance the skin. The ultimate treat for normal and combination skin." These claims are not exaggerated in the least- this product actually does exactly what it claims to do.

The secret to the efficacy of this product can be found in its key ingredients:
*Refined French Green Clay (Tightens pores, removes impurities, and infuses skin with vital minerals)
*Vitamin C (Helps reduce the appearance of large pores, wrinkles and discoloration while stimulating collagen production)
*Black Pepper (Stimulates circulation)
*Sandalwood (Anti-microbial, helps with skin irritation, inflammation, allergic conditions, eczema, and promotes radiance)
*Jasmine (Skin soothing and restorative)
Frankincense (Anti-wrinkle, encourages the growth of new cells, tonic, astringent)

Full List of Ingredients:
Aqua (Water) + Montmorillonite (French Green Clay), Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Cocopolyglucoside Tartrate, Sodium Cocopolyglucoside Citrate, Ascorbyl Palmitate (Vitamin C Ester), Piper Nigrum (Black Pepper) Fruit Oil, Botswellia Carterii (Frankincense) Oil, Jasmine Officinale Oil, Santalum album (Sandalwood) Oil, Xanthan Gum, Phenoxyethanol, Tetrasodium Edta

I give this product a resounding A+

  1. Thanks for this review. I just discovered this brand and keep hearing positive reviews! I need to see if the Barneys near my work has this line yet. This cleanser sounds promising :)

    1. Hi Nicolle, I am so glad that my review was helpful to you-- I also use her other two cleansers (Gray Exposé & Charisma Crème) check out my reviews to see if either of those are better suited to your skin type-- unless you are like me and vary your cleansers depending on what your skin's needs are on any given day.

      Here are those reviews:

I love all three, but if I had to choose only one it would have to be Ceramic Slip-- it is just feels divine during use, and my skin feels unbelievably soft, supple and clean afterward. I would ask for samples so that you can try each of them out-- they are always generous with samples. Every single time that I have gotten samples from them I have ended up buying the products!

To my knowledge all of the Barneys physical locations have a Sunday Riley- so I imagine that your will. Let me know what you end up trying out-- and of course whether or not it works for you! Have fun!!

  2. My Barneys had the skincare line but not all of the make up, they won't be getting it till fall :( I did get a full make over though during lunch today. For now I picked up the Ceramic Slip and Good Genes. She gave me a generous sample of Gray Expose and she said I could mix with the Good Genes for a mask. That's what she did on me anyway. My skin felt so soft. I keep touching my face :) I want to pick up Adrenaline and Stimulant III next. I have used other high end brands and have not seen many results. I told her I was using Retin A and she said her clients that have used Retin A stopped and just used Sunday Riley & their skin totally improved. I am hoping mine will do the same. Thanks so much for your reviews, very helpful! :)

    1. Wow, I'm surprised that your Barneys won't be getting the makeup until the fall!! You can always order it online from them, or you can order anything through my Barneys and they will give you an extra treat with your purchases if you tell them that I sent you. If you want to do that be sure to ask for Suzi (the Sunday Riley Specialist) at (310) 276-4400 Ext. 5613 or Ext. 5598.

Ceramic Slip was the first cleanser of Sunday Riley's that I tried, and it's still my favorite (but I do love Gray Expose and Charisma Cream as well). I'm so glad that you got samples of Gray Expose-- you will love being able to use it as a mask with Good Genes at home!! I love doing that, but like I said in my Gray Expose review I often forget to do it (not sure why).

I love Skin Adrenaline & Stimulant III- I use Adrenaline every am and Stimulant III every pm. Stimulant III has 1% pure fresh Retinol which is the maximum strength for over the counter retinol products. It has done wonders for the quality of my skin- especially areas of sun damage! I'm not surprised that lots of people who used Retin A gave it up and now just use Stim III. There is only one spot that it didn't get rid of for me-- and that was a spot on my left cheek (almost in my hairline) that was from driving without adequate sunscreen on). I talked about it in my review of Stim III-- and eventually I just had my doctor remove it.

My skin has never been happier since I switched to Sunday Riley's skincare a few years ago. I hope that you have the same experience!

I am so glad that my reviews are helping you!

I will be reviewing Sunday Riley Cashmere SPF 30 and the Dry Touch Crème to Powder Concealer sometime this week or next-- so if you subscribe to the blog it will be coming to you soon.

Keep me posted on how Ceramic Slip, Good Genes, and Gray Expose are working for you!

    2. I used the Good Genes and Gray Expose last night, I really liked how it felt. So far everything feels very light, not heavy, sticky/greasy which I love. Most other high end brands I have used feel so heavy that I break out a couple days using the products or they have a lot of alchol in them and I get dry and break out. I should have bought the Gray Expose. The SA told me they are discontinuing it and putting something else in its place. They seemed disappointed about that since they said it was a really good product that actually works...seems to be a rare concept in skincare unfortunately.

    3. I'm so glad that you love how Good Genes and Gray Expose felt. I'm glad that the textures work for you. I know what you mean about other high end lines causing you to get dry and break out because of being heavy, and full of alcohol. I also find that products with lots of petroleum based products end up bothering my skin. I hadn't heard about Gray Expose being discontinued-- I am going to check that out with a couple of my contacts at Sunday RIley. That would be a definite shame!! I know that they can barely keep it in stock at the Beverly Hills Barneys because it is so popular! If that is true- then I would grab a bottle before it's gone! You are so right about how rare it is when a beauty product actually works as it claims it will! That's one of the reasons that I'm so hooked on this line!
It's still available on the Barneys website:
